Mutts & Co. offers Canine/Human Relationship Classes.  Our specialized curriculum will teach you how to read your canines behavior, which will increase the effectiveness of the obedience training.

Canines are not born with good manners.  How we interact with our new canine will determine their behavior for years to come.  Many of us, (humans), teach bad behavior without even knowing it.  Learning how to interpret canine language and becoming familiar with why canines do what they do, will help you reinforce good manners.

Our training methods use respect, love, compassion and understanding.

Classes Offered

Canine/Human Relationship 101
8 week course, one class per week.
Age: 8 week to 6 months
Class size: *8 canine students (two humans per dog)
Mon or Tues 7-8 pm

This class is designed for the beginner.  It will meet the needs of the individual class.  We will have fun games, plenty of brag time and socialization. We will learn good manners, such as “sit”, “stay” and “come”.  We will teach how to discourage jumping and biting and learn to control barking.  We will also learn how to sit for veterinary exams.

Canine/Human Relationship 102
8 week course, one class per week.
Age: 6 months and up
Class size: *8 canine students (two humans per dog)
Thurs 7-8 pm

This course follows the same lesson plan as CHR101, however it’s for the older canine.

Canine/Human Relationship 201
8 week course
Age 6 months and up
Class size: *8 students (two humans allowed per dog)
Thursday 7-8
Pre-requisite 101 or 102

This is a continuing education class for more exact behavior.  We will teach beginning competition obedience.  The canine will learn to watch for clues for wanted behavior.  They will practice holding commands longer and truly master the commands learned in 101 and 102.  This is not a rigid approach, but fun, quality time for your canine and you.

6 months and up

This class is for the canine that needs a little extra help accepting humans and other dogs.  This is not for the overly aggressive canine.  Evaluation required with our trainer before registration.

 

* Classes must have a minimum of 4 students for class to be held.  Charm school needs a minimum of 3. Children under 6 years old not allowed. Current Rabies Vaccination records needed. 

*$50 dollar non-refundable deposit required. However in the event the class minimum is not met, deposit will be refunded.
